Entering the field of mathematics can be tough, and women often encounter specific obstacles. The exhibition offers a glimpse into the world of mathematics through photographs (by Noel Tovia Matoff) and excerpts from 34 women mathematicians from around the world. This website provides a platform for contact, exchange and mutual assistance.

The website for the various locations (VENUES) will be updated with a programme before the opening date. We will also continue placing feedback, pictures and extra resources afterwards

 

What's on

The name of the exhibition has changed slightly to "Women in Mathematics from around the world. A gallery of portraits", as it now includes portraits of women mathematicians outside Europe.The exhibition currently showcases 34 female mathematicians and theoretical physicists worldwide, including 10 women from Japan, Costa Rica and India. In 2024, it was expanded to include three more mathematicians from Indonesia and the Czech Republic.

A catalogue comprising the full interviews with 20 European mathematicians and visual material is available to purchase.

The exhibition has now been shown at some 170 locations worldwide.
