ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

New York University  Abu Dhabi (NYU AD)

Event: Women in Mathematics (11-12 February 2020)

Aim and Scope of the Event:

Main scope of the event is to raise awareness of students on the role of women in science and in particular in mathematics.
Statistics show that there is a large gap between men and women starting a career in mathematics and that this gap widens as career progresses.
Reference models for young generations lack; the exhibition and the organized activities want to provide models of present-day women in mathematics and want to stimulate girls and boys to start a career in mathematics or more generally in science.
