On Friday August 4th at 8pm, after a short presentation of the exhibition a discussion took place on

"Discriminations in the world of mathematics and physics"

might these discriminations be of geographical nature, or related to gender issues or to disabilities.

After that, a film was shown, called

"Secrets of the Surface, The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani"

about the life and scientific career of the mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani, who was awarded the Fields Medal in 2014, being the first woman to receive this prize equivalent to the Nobel Prize in mathematics.
