BOGOTÁ IV, COLOMBIA

On the week November 26th - December 1st, 2018, the Week of Science from
Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Sede Bogotá, took place. This
outreach activity organized by the Faculty of Sciences comprised talks
delivered by some of its staff members. There was also a launching of
new books and exhibitions, along with activities addressed to children
and public in general. This took place at the bookstore of Universidad
Nacional de Colombia:

On Friday November the 30th Carolina Neira Jiménez gave the talk
"Gender and Mathematics", which overviewed the situation of women
in mathematics, showing examples of women mathematicians in the history and in Colombia.

From that week and during the month of December, the exhibition
"Retratos de Matemáticas" of portraits of women mathematicians in
Latin-America was presented.
